Beginnings New York takes place in a variety of prestigious college and university settings 50-100 miles from New York City. Recent venues include Mount Saint Mary's College in upstate New York, Concordia College in New York’s Westchester County, and Rider University near Princeton, New Jersey. The workshop culminates with an Off Broadway showcase which takes place at a major recognized theater, typically the Orpheum Theater, Minetta Lane Theater, or Union Square Theater, in New York City.
Selected sites all have a long history of support and encouragement for arts education. Facilities normally include abundant class and performance space, modern fully-equipped dance studios, state of the art music practice rooms with pianos, sophisticated kitchen and dining facilities, a superior nutritional regimen and meal service, and modern and comfortable dormitory housing. A state-licensed nurse resides on campus and is available all hours of the day and night. Additionally, the workshop is licensed and regularly inspected by the New York and/or New Jersey Department of Health. Parents can arrange professionally chaperoned transportation for students of all ages, between the university and all major New York airports.
Beginnings London students reside and study at the luxurious four-star Marriott Regents Park Hotel in north London. An international landmark, the hotel features include ultra-comfortable 300-thread-count bedding, family-style rooms with two double beds, and spacious class, dining, and meeting rooms. Privileged use of the Royal Shakespeare Company's rehearsal halls in Stratford is accorded the workshop for master classes during the week.
