This is the beginnings workshop's official byline. It expresses an important question, based on a top priority of virtually every casting person and agent in New York and Hollywood. We hear them over and over again at each of our workshops, expressing their need to find something "real". And, as they’ll all tell you, they not only know it and feel it when they see it; they recognize it the moment you walk in the room.

So, ask yourself: who are you, really? Are you confident, are you taking good care of your health and nutritional needs, (remember the wise old axiom: "you are what you eat?"), are you disciplined and mature?

That's your real. And you can't fake it, or turn it on and off, or put it together quickly before an important moment. It's who and what you really are- the basis for success in any field.

At beginnings, we use this approach to enable the realistic pursuit of our students’ dreams. It’s an approach to professionalism as practical as it is caring. It’s based on the belief, for example, that what you eat for breakfast each morning is every bit as important as what you put on your resume.

At beginnings, we help our students with both.

So... what's your real?
