SFS Music Services
For the last fifteen years, Steven has worked in New
York City and the surrounding area as a music director; associate music
director; composer, arranger; copyist; dance arranger and voice performer. He has had the pleasure of “tickling the
ivories “ for TV celebrities like the cast of Will and Grace (Debra
Messing, Sean Hayes, Eric McCormack, Megan Mulally, and Harry Connick, Jr.),
John Stamos (of Full House), David Schram (of Wings) an Nancy Barrett (Dark
Shadows); for theater personalities like Tony Award winner Betty Buckley,
Tony Award Nominee Alison Fraser, legendary performer John Raitt (
Bonnie’s father); for pop personalities like Deborah Gibson and legendary
Carole King; as well as Jana Robbins (Gypsy); and PJ Benjamin. He has worked
as a pianist and/or music director/arranger/copyist for composers like
Charles Strouse (Annie); Stephen Sondheim (Passion); and Jerry Herman (Mame). He has played keyboards in the pits of such
Broadway shows as BLOOD BROTHERS and SWINGING ON A STAR. Off Broadway he was
Music director for A NAUGHTY KNIGHT and Associate Music Director for THE
JAZZ SINGER (director by Richard Sabellico) at Jewish repertory Theatre as
well as associate music director for Melting Pot theatre’s production of A
CHILD’S GARDEN as Theatre 3 (which was voted top one of the top 10 shows
of the current Off Broadway season by the New York pose). Other Off Broadway shows include WHEN PIGS FLY
(Douglas Fairbanks); THE GREEN HEART (Manhattan Theatre Club), THAT’S LIFE
(Jewish Repertory Theatre/Theatre East), ANNIE WARBUCKS (Variety Arts) and
EATING RAOUL (Union Square Theatre). His song WHO NEEDS ROMANCE, sung by Stephanie
Pope, is released on the first annual Genesius Guild CD. His songs have been
recorded by Randy Graff, Ellen Greene and Carolee Carmello among others. His
work as composer can be heard on the Cd’s QUEL FROMAGE and OUR HEART
SINGS. He is on the faculty of The Neighborhood
Playhouse. He has been on the faculty of Marymount Manhattan College, AMDA,
