Beginnings London Workshops

The fifth of our two yearly workshops in London featured an entire week studying with some of Britain's leading stage actors and actresses.

We saw the world's ultimate production of Henry IV Part I, (previous years it was Romeo & Juliet and Midsummer’s Night Dream), with The Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford Upon Avon, following our own private, intensive two-hour workshop, class and analysis of MacBeth with the RSC’s Director of Education, Kelvin Goodspeed.

We also attended West End productions of Spamalot and Billy Elliott, (opening in NY soon), this was followed by a day-long private guided tour of the entire city, including the famed Tower of London, British Museum, National Gallery, the London Eye, and visits to the most notable film locales from the famous Harry Potter film series. We were additionally fortunate to be in London at midnight on the evening when the latest and final epic in the Harry Potter series was officially released, and students purchased the first-ever copies of the book!

We also participated in a week of intensive classes in British theater technique with BBC film and television actors Selva Rasalingam, Rod Smith, and additional professionals at the prestigious Actors’ Space studios.

(English Acting Experience)

Once again, we stayed at the luxurious Marriott Hotel in Regents Park, ate healthy home-cooked Beginnings-style meals, traveled London's famous Underground, (the "tube"), rode the double-decker buses, as well as visits to Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, shopping at Camden Market, and visited virtually every other major part of London.

It's amazing we made it though customs on the way home, with all the things we bought! (P-Tizzle even spent a few precious moments at that wonderful international cigar haven, Davidoff's of London, yo.)

What an amazing, wonderful experience!

-Peter
